"Be home before the sun goes down!" his mother called after him as he ran out of the house. Lysander simply replied by waving behind him, quickly fading from view as he ran towards the Parthenon. His mother shook her head, smiling sadly; her small boy was growing up, and turning into a young man. As she walked back into the house, she began to wonder where the years had gone. It seemed like just yesterday he was being forced into lyre lessons. Now he was a young man, constantly lost in day-dreams, and always running around Athens taking in all the beauty the city had to offer. Quickly remembering herself, she brought her mind away from the memories, and went back to her work.
Lysander quickly sped toward the Parthenon, his heart pounding quickly as he did so. He wasn't always at the Parthenon; sometimes he simply just roamed about the city, other times he was in the agora picking up things for his mother, and could also be found at the theater where his father spent most of his time among the other political men discussing politics. Today though was special. The sun was so bright, and the breeze was cool, and fresh; the perfect day for seeing the beautiful sculptures and craftmanship of the Parthenon.
Lysander finally made it up the Acropolis and into the Parthenon. From the minute he went inside, he was mezmorized by the beauty of it all. He walked up, down, and through the white pillars, checking every small detail out. Finally, he found what he always found when he came here. It was nothing special, just a simple staute. But it was so beautiful, it captivated him each time he saw it.
Lysander smiled up at it; whoever made it must've been very talented, Lysander thought to himself. Almost ready to move on, he let himself linger on the beauty of the statue just a few moments longer.
